Abstract
One of main goals of corpora-building (LCR) is to promote L2 acquisitions (SLA) (Granger, 2012). However, the research of learner corpora in L2 acquisitions is relatively under development. (Myles, 2005; Hasselgard, 1999).
This study will discuss how to apply the current Czech learner corpora to the theory and practice of L2 acquisitions, mainly concerning about the usages of motion events. This study aims to analyze how the Chinese-speaking learners understand and express the motion events in L2 Czech, through a corpora-based approach. It is assumed that through this study not only the typological differences in motion expressions between Chinese and Czech can be proposed, but also the main learning difficulties of the motion expressions for the Chinese-speaking students in their L2 Czech. This study eventually hopes to benefit the preparation of related teaching materials for more effective L2 acquisitions.
